Some observations Christine said may be interesting:

- Sometimes, when two male Arabs meet, they will rub noses to say hello instead of a handshake.

- Many upper and middle class Arab families I have seen in public are accompanied by Filipino nannies. Most often I see them caring for the children, or carrying the groceries. There were many advertisements in the classifieds for full-time, live-in nannies.

- Also in the classifieds, I noticed pages of advertisements for marriage. My son age whatever, career whatever is now accepting applications for marriage. I'm going to have to ask around about this one.
